There have been over 1000 different recordings , selling tens of millions of copies. It’s become so ubiquitous – in lifts, as phone ring tones or on call-centre answering machines – that it has been denounced as Muzak for the middle classes. Rick Wakeman – platinum-selling prog rock keyboardist and television Grumpy Old Man – thinks the critics are wrong. He believes that the Four Seasons was so far ahead of its time that it was actually the first ever concept album – and that Vivaldi was the world’s first rock superstar. But how could a sickly 18th century priest create the prototype for Rick’s very modern genre? And why did Vivaldi and the Four Seasons disappear into obscurity for more than 200 years after his death? Rick turns detective to solve the mystery: his journey takes him to Venice – in the 18th century the most debauched city on the planet – where he encounters some of those who have devoted their lives to studying and worshipping Vivaldi … and uncovers the whiff of a very modern rock star sex scandal. Which may have contributed to Vivaldi’s downfall. But the investigation also leads Rick to unexpected places and people. He meets fellow prog rocker Mike Rutherford from Genesis and debates whose band Vivaldi would join; and he encounters the Croatian arranger and keyboard player whose multi-national assembly of musicians is turning the Four Seasons into heavy metal. El renombrado músico, compositor y tecladista Rick Wakeman, reconocido por su excepcional contribución al rock progresivo, se encuentra de gira por latinoamérica, deleitando a sus fanáticos con su virtuosismo musical. Wakeman, famoso por su trabajo con la icónica banda de rock progresivo Yes y por su extensa carrera solista, llegará nuevamente a Chile, luego de 6 años, como parte de su “FINAL SOLO TOUR, RICK WAKEMAN AN EVENING OF YES MUSIC AND OTHER FAVORITES”
El evento tendrá lugar en el Teatro Teletón, el día 06 de abril, donde Wakeman presentará un show íntimo con un repertorio que abarcará lo mejor de su carrera musical, incluyendo éxitos emblemáticos y piezas más recientes que han cautivado a audiencias en todo el mundo.
Junto con su destacado papel en Yes, Rick Wakeman ha sido una parte integral de la creación de varios éxitos icónicos de la banda. Algunas de las canciones más reconocidas de Yes, son: «Roundabout», «Long Distance Runaround», «Close to the Edge», «Going for the One», «And You and I», «Heart of the Sunrise», por nombrar algunas.
El británico ha colaborado con una serie de músicos a lo largo de su carrera, tales como: David Bowie, quien contó con su presencia en el clásico álbum «Hunky Dory». También aportó en álbumes de Elton John como «Madman Across the Water» y «Honky Château», colaboró en proyectos con Cat Stevens y realizó contribuciones en el álbum «Sabbath Bloody Sabbath» de Black Sabbath.
En su impresionante carrera en solitario, Rick Wakeman ha creado una serie de composiciones que han dejado una huella perdurable en la música contemporánea.
